New computer program - "Anti-EyeStrain" - which aims to remove eyestrain and thus avoid health-related problems. It will help you maintain proper working schedule, remind you to take breaks before you get tired, and suggest simple, but effective exercises for your eyes. For shortsighted users, it also improves eyesight and prevents myopia from progressing.
SoundTimer is simple and flexible task scheduling utility. It has many advantages over the standard Windows Task Scheduler:
- Execute tasks every few seconds, minutes, hours, or days
- Perform "open", "print", "queue", or other actions on documents or programs
- Easily suspend and resume individual queued tasks
- Internal sound player, with pre-emptive priority system
A great utility to automate your repetitive computing tasks!
Avoid the desk job body. Stay in shape right at your desk. Break Pal teaches a new soft style exercise every 30 minutes to keep you in shape, healthy. Moves that will focus on a certain muscle group and get your heart rate up. Once you learn the move through the simple video instruction, you then will move on to the next screen where you will do the move at a faster pace until you feel you've raised your heart rate and sustained it to your goal.
"Take regular breaks" is probably the most frequent advice you will receive when you talk to medical professionals about Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).
Albion StopNow helps you take that advice. It monitors your computer and gives you a discreet reminders if you work for too long without taking that necessary break.
Note: More information about RSI can be found on the program's website at www.albionresearch.com/astopnow.
ErgoSense analyses how you use your computer and recognizes when eyestrain or RSI are more likely to occur. You will be presented with a series of 3D-animated ergonomic exercises which you can follow, delay or dismiss. ErgoSense has no learning curve, does not intrude on your work & dispenses with medical jargon.
SoundBreak helps remind you to take those little stretch and relax breaks that have been shown to help prevent the effects of Repetitive use injuries. It reminds you by unobtrusively playing random sound files of your choice - I use sound bites from old movies.
I used a similar utility for a while that someone else had written, but found it very frustrating to be *forced* to take a 30 second break in the middle of a thought.
